Film Overview

“Making Sense” is intended to be the first independent feature film to represent five elements of disability played by disabled actors themselves.  The film explores the realities of disability through five characters – each lacking one of the five primary senses – sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell.  These characters, ranging from quadriplegic college student to an elderly blind man, overcome societal challenges and personal fear to successfully participate in a series of experiments aimed at uncovering senses that border on the "superhuman".  The film is envisioned as a cross between “On Golden Pond” and “Stranger Things”, using a mixture of humor, science fiction and poignant moments to leave the audience with a different perception of the abilities of the disabled.
